The CSI Effect

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9_4szyx8IU

I have posted the link to this compilation of clips from one of my favourite shows, House MD. It shows a good example that medical examinations do not really happen this way. Not that much drama as to what is House, as well as not as much disregard for the patience that is being examined in the clinic. Normal doctors would neither be cruel or ignorant towards their patients. They would instead, examing the patient to the best of their ability and diagnose the problem, even if the patient thought it was something more severe. This is the example we have come up with for contructed reality in the media.

  1. I've had conversations about this with people before. They also wouldn't have diagnostic doctors doing surgery, nor would they break into a person's house to find clues for their diagnosis. Good example.
